Memories laid to rest
I stand by a patch of heaped soil
Next to a small wooden cross bearing your name
I place flowers with care and talk without speaking one word
Taking a trip down that old memory lane.
It's a long painful walk, down that memory lane
I play with thoughts inside my mind
So many questions were left unsaid
Answers now I'll never find.
The wind is cold and sharp and icy
The crisp leaves gather where you lay
Wishing you well in the next life
I leave my memories with you today.
