Too young

Too young
too soon to cross the other side
Too young
you felt you just had no one to confide

Too young
and so you left without a word
too young
no one saw and no one heard

Too young
yet you decided on your fate
too young
when morning came, we were too late.

Too young
with so much life still left to see
Too young
alone and lost was he.

Too young
depression did not show
Too young
just seventeen,,,we did not know

Too young
things will never be the same
Too young
now we all feel your pain.

Too young
with angel wings you now fly high
Too young...
Too young to die.

Writers block

Try to write a poem
can not think
put aside my pen
pour another drink.

I ponder over thoughts
that are spinning through my mind
In the midst of all the chaos
I'm alone I find.

Lost the inspiration
the passion, the insight
as I try attempt a poem
that I just can't seem to write.

The final chapter

 The final chapter

Vibrant  smiles, giggles and butterflies,
a passionate heart that danced with such excitement
as i wait for your train to pull into the station.

Young innocent love
so many hopes and dreams of our tomorrows
no planning required, we'd go where our hearts would take us
and i would write of my love upon purple paper.

That very night of your proposal
standing in a pokey little jewellers
hand in hand we said...
for always and forever.

Walking down the aisle with my father
falling into eyes filled with promise and protection
whispering i love yous
as we say I DO.

The births of our children
enchanting sounds of laughter that ran through our house
three excited faces when daddies ship docked into port
sailing back into our lives once more.

The waiting for your return, counting down the months, weeks and days
longing for the tenderness I'd missed for so long
I felt more alone and lost now
while you sang merry songs with merry sailors down the town.

Drinking came and nastiness followed
loving emotions pushed aside
in a house once full of laughter
tears would fall like rain upon an empty sea.

Years of trekking a vicious circle
I found the strength i thought you had stolen
packed up your things and stumbled across
an old smile i once knew...my own.

Once again, i was me
my heart dancing through a meadow of tulips
finding new dreams with my head held high towards the clouds
like an ending to a final chapter
I sign the papers and close my book.

Three little monkeys

Three little monkeys
would often run me riot
never got a moment
to sit and just be quiet.

Three little monkeys
always on the go
I want I want I want
pulling too and fro.

Three little monkeys
always having fun
scattered toys galore
mummy on the run

Three little monkeys
and a mummy half dead
praying for the clock to chime
half past bed!

Three little monkeys
growing so fast
those little silly giggles
just an echo of their past.

Three little monkeys
now so grown
endless teenage hormones and
worries of their own.

Three little people
strange as it may be
how I miss those little monkeys
swinging off me.

Old photo

Old photo's...
(loved this old dog)

Every picture tells a story, so they say
Often wonder what my thoughts were on this day,
Could it be that i am watching all the other kids at play?
Or just clinging to the chain so my best friend won't run away.
Is my mother cooking stew behined that kitchen door?
Am i thinking of tomorrow and what it has in store?
As a child...with dreams so innocent and pure
Sitting with my best friend and the shadows on the floor.

If i should have no more tomorrows...

If i should have no more tomorrows I'd hold you close to me, beneath the soft smile of the gentle moon and kiss you with my everything.
If i should have no more tomorrows I'd embrace you with the sweet candied scent of my love, enriching your heart with my essence, desperately clinging to tender memories of yesterday.
If i should have no more tomorrows I'd close my eyes and feel the warmth of your smile like a burning sun upon a golden beach. I'd memorise every inch of you, so as in the next life even if blinded i would find my way back to your heart.
If i should have no more tomorrows I'd sit beside you under a strong, proud, mysterious oak and say everything in silence... whilst the passing wind whistled carrying away my thoughts.
If i should have no more tomorrows I would cling to you tightly, fall helplessly into your eyes... and love you for as long as forever should last.
If i should have no more tomorrows...

Arse hole

Arse hole

Ive met many an arse hole
But you? You stand alone
Even in such happy times
You find ability to moan.

What a bloody misery
Does it pain you to smile?
To say something that may be nice...
Once in a bloody while?

Too happy finding fault in folk
Busy searching for the bad
What happened once upon a time
That made your life so sad?

So quick to judge yet not be judged
You push people away
You want them all to listen...
But don't care what they say.

Always putting people down
Pulling bit by bit
Making them feel worthless...
Arse hole full of shit.

You have to be so in control
Your stubborn... And what's more
I consider myself lucky love
That i found the bloody door.

I have many a fault in me
I'll be first to admit
But i know you'll not get far in life
Arse hole... Full of shit.

So wallow in hateful bitterness
I'll bounce back, because that's me
I'll be happy on my own
You be happy...misery.

In later years to come
When you've grown up a bit
You'll realise faults lie with you...
Arse hole full of shit.
